Alan Carr & Lee Peart Uncork the Chaos in their New Podcast Bottoms Up!
Fresh off his scene-stealing appearance on The Celebrity Traitors, Alan Carr is teaming up with fellow comedian and long-time friend, Lee Peart, to launch Bottoms Up! the podcast equivalent of popping open a bottle of Chablis with your best friends.
Described by the pair as “a wine show for people who don’t own a decanter,” Bottoms Up! blends entertaining conversation, curiosity and a touch of havoc as Alan and Lee get together for a good old gossip, while setting out to demystify a world they’ve often enjoyed but never fully understood, one glass at a time. Asking all the big, important questions – like, is it actually a crime to enjoy a couple of ice cubes in your rosé? And what’s the classy move when you order wine for the table and it turns out to taste like regret?
Each episode pairs real wine wisdom with the hosts’ signature playful mayhem. One moment you’re finally learning what tannins actually are, the next you’re laughing at a story about a hilarious tour-show mishap. With a clean, consistent format that flows from chat to wine selection to expert insight, every instalment serves up real-life dilemmas, juicy gossip, unexpected discoveries, and genuinely useful takeaways.
“Half the time we’ve no idea what we’re drinking.” Says host, Alan Carr “This podcast is a roundabout way of enjoying a glass together, and trying to get a bit more wine savvy on the way…”
Lee Peart adds: “There are loads of wine shows out there, but none where two idiots like us try a Barolo and then argue about which celebrity definitely owns a vineyard. We wanted something fun, welcoming, and just a bit unhinged.”
Across the series, the duo explore everything from bargain bottles to splash-out specials, decoding jargon, sharing stories, and tackling blind tastings with the help of wine experts, winemakers, and the occasional celebrity guest.
The goal, they say, isn’t to become experts, it’s to bring listeners along as they discover the joy, surprises, and occasional disasters hidden inside every bottle.
Bottoms Up! is a Listen production, brought to you by Laithwaites.
