Sport Podcast Producer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative sport podcast producer. An interest in rugby union will be an advantage, because you will be responsible for the weekly production of our leading shows The Good, The Bad and The Rugby and The Good, The Scaz and The Rugby, both of which regularly feature interviews with the biggest names in the game.

You will have recording expertise in studio, virtual, and/or field environments and, as important to us, is an eagerness to contribute to an exciting company and its growing slate of sport podcasts.

We have plans to expand our rugby union portfolio later this year so, with that in mind, you will be an organised individual who is comfortable managing multiple projects. Basically, we are looking for someone who knows their sport, knows podcasts and wants to make them the best in the industry.

You will be working in a collaborative and deadline-driven environment alongside other respected podcast producers and social media experts. We will make sure you are well supported. Folding Pocket forms part of a wider network of companies that will work closely with you to help your work stand out. You’ll also be able to call on the expertise of an executive producer who can help you plan the right editorial approach on all your projects. But you won’t be micromanaged, so the ability to work autonomously is important and you will have the authority to run things your way.

Folding Pocket works with some of the biggest talent, brands and most respected audio companies in the world and we are keen for you to develop your skills and build your experience with us.

We will do all we can to make that happen by giving you opportunities to get involved in other projects, which may well include highly produced, narrative-style shows and compelling audio documentaries.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency with studio and field recording equipment
  • Strong editing experience using Adobe Audition (or a similar recording software)
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • A track record of turning around audio to tight deadlines
  • The ability to maintain and improve quality standards
  • A decent understanding of media law
  • An interest in sport

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro
  • Knowledge of rugby union

Location:

This is a full-time home-based role, but given the nature of the job there will be a requirement to travel.

£35,000-40,000 p.a. (depending on experience)
